Horse Riding in Prosen

Glen Prosen is one of the five Angus Glens, located in the eastern Highlands of Scotland. It lies on the southern edge of the Cairngorms National Park and offers access to several popular hiking routes. The glen is a gateway to Munros Mayar (928m) and Driesh (947m), which are often climbed together from the head of the glen. These peaks provide excellent views over the surrounding hills and valleys.

The lower part of Glen Prosen features gentle tracks and paths suitable for easier walks, with well-maintained routes following the River Prosen through farmland and woodland. Many hikers travel popular 4 mile “Minister’s Path” that runs between Glen Prosen to Glen Clova and takes in some fine moorland scenery.

The area is known for its quiet beauty and rich wildlife, including red squirrels, deer, and a variety of bird species. Due to its relative remoteness and low visitor numbers, Glen Prosen is ideal for hikers looking for a more tranquil and less crowded outdoor experience.
